This is one of a number of 18-19th Century long case clock dials and movements which are from the extensive collection that belonged to the late Eric Morton 1945 - 2019. I know very little about clocks and know little jargon relating to them.

Any questions please ask and I will answer them as best I can. All items are for spares - repair only and may have bits missing but I know that some NON clock collectors only want a dial to hang on a wall as a furnishing with their surname or a local place name etc. All are A/F = as found.

This is an enamel dial and movement which is named James Burton, Whitehaven which has been abbreviated to Jas Burton. It has been hand painted with floral sprays in the corner and a bird at the top that looks like a pheasant.

It still has its original hand made, gilded hour and minute hands. It also has a nice date dial near under the centre point. The metal ware is rusted and tarnished which has effected the enamelling on the front, mostly on the edges and corners where the enamelling has chipped. The paintwork on the maker's name, numbers, and date dial is faded. The enamelling is cracked in places and looks to be discoloured from age.

There are some surface scuffs and minor impact marks etc. It needs a bit of a clean.

Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. 16 and 1/4 inches x 12 inches. Their service was on a downer for the last year or so but has come to head in November - December when they took strike action for many days during those months.

Their service was pretty bad before this to be fair but what a SHAMBLES it is now. This is such a shocking service from a company that should have been TOP of their game. They have lost my business, which is a considerable amount over a year. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

In the title or description it means. Condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F for " as found " for 45 years.
