This is one of a number of 18-19th Century long case clock dials and movements which are from the extensive collection that belonged to the late Eric Morton 1945 - 2019. I know very little about clocks and know little jargon relating to them. Any questions please ask and I will answer them as best I can. All items are for spares - repair only and may have bits missing but I know that some NON clock collectors only want a dial to hang on a wall as a furnishing with their surname or a local place name etc.

All are A/F = as found. This is a solid brass dial named Katterns, Thrapston in the middle. It has a nice little foliage sort of pattern engraved into the centre around the name. It has really nice handmade spandrels in the corners which have been made into the shapes of people doing various tasks. Unfortunately the person in the bottom right has had their head snapped off.

It has Roman Numerals and numbers engraved onto the outer ring border. The metal ware is dusty and tarnished. The numbered ring border is hanging on by one screw in the back.

The spandrels are also loose and pivot on their nail. There are some surface scuffs etc.

The main brass back plate is bent on all corners. The dark mark between 5 and 9 is just a water spot where we gave the surface a little wash down since it was really dusty. You can see that it's started drying off further in the photos and is disappearing.

It's not a stain. It is a very nice Georgian clock dial which is worthy of being restored for sure this one.

Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. 11 inches x 11 inches in total and weighs approx. My stock ref : Unit 9. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

In the title or description it means. Condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. This item is in the category "Collectables\Decorative Collectables\Clocks\Grandfather Clocks". The seller is "diggerlee" and is located in this country: GB. This item can be shipped to United Kingdom.
