1920s German Made Small Grandmother Clock by Urgos with superb Westminster chime

1920s German Made Small Grandmother Clock by Urgos with superb Westminster chimes. This century old 8-day duration grandmother clock. With a chiming movement having an adjustable Graham dead beat escapement, is regulated by a long pendulum having a cylindrical brass bob. The beautifully mellow Westminster chimes sound on the quarters and the hour on straight gong rods. (Uhrenfabrik Urgos Haller Jauch Papst made in Schwennigen-Villingen).

Behind a square brass 7 ½ dial with matted centre, cherub corner spandrels and silvered chapter ring with Roman Numerals. Contained in a handsome dark Jacobean Oak case with barley twist columns to the hood. Flat top, applied trunk embellishment, front edge mouldings and standing only 4' 9 high so will fit admirably into very compact environments. The highlight of this clock is undoubtedly the superb sound of the very sonorous Westminster chimes, typical of quality German movements.

For the last 20 years the clock has been regularly serviced. By a well-known horologist in Bournemouth area, so the movement is in understandably very good operating condition.

The oak case has recently undergone a thorough wax polishing together with a full servicing and testing of the movement in our workshop where it keeps excellent time. Height 57", Width 13", Depth 7. See Video for hourly chime. Please enquire re your area.
