An Absolutely beautiful example of early 19th century craftsmanship, this is a great clock. The case has a beautifully mellow mid-oak colour, whilst the hood is veneered in the most opulent mahogany with a crown and globe befitting a much grander clock.
The face remains in its original enamel with the makers name still clear, images of flora and a grand folly detailed amongst roman numerals. The mechanism has been cleaned and serviced and runs well, the original sash cord pull remains, as does the weight. All in all this is a very nice example of a late century 30 hour grandfather clock and, at just 81 tall, will fit in both cottage and townhouse. All photos are of the actual piece.
