This is one of a number of 18-19th Century long case clock dials and movements which are from the extensive collection that belonged to the late Eric Morton 1945 - 2019. I know very little about clocks and know little jargon relating to them. Any questions please ask and I will answer them as best I can. All items are for spares - repair only and may have bits missing but I know that some NON clock collectors only want a dial to hang on a wall as a furnishing with their surname or a local place name etc. All are A/F = as found. This is an enamel dial and movement which is named Fletcher Leeds on the front. It has been hand painted with large estate houses in the corners and at the top.

It has its original hand made iron hour and minute hands attached. There are two other dials on the main dial, one with its original hand and the other with no hands. This is a 3 TRAIN movement and has 3 bells on it, two bells, one inside each other at a vertical angle which the inner one is slightly smaller of course and the single in the normal position. The 3 barrels have cat gut on them and 3 brass pulley like wheels too. I sell an awful lot of these brass and enamel dials to people that simply hang them on the wall as they are fabulous Georgian - early Victorian period antiques in their own right even if they don't have a movement on them or in a case.

The metal ware is rusted and tarnished which has effected the enamelling on the front, mostly on the edges and corners where the enamelling has chipped. Some of the enamel paint is bubbling in places. The paintwork on the maker's name is faded. The enamelling is cracked in places and looks to be discoloured from age. There are some surface scuffs and minor impact marks etc. It needs a bit of a clean. Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition. 18 and 1/2 inches x 13 and 1/4 inches. This dial and movement is much heavier at 6.70 kilos. Their service was on a downer for the last year or so but has come to head in November - December when they took strike action for many days during those months. Their service was pretty bad before this to be fair but what a SHAMBLES it is now. This is such a shocking service from a company that should have been TOP of their game. They have lost my business, which is a considerable amount over a year. Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are. In the title or description it means. Condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F for " as found " for 45 years. This item is in the category "Collectables\Decorative Collectables\Clocks\Grandfather Clocks". The seller is "diggerlee" and is located in this country: GB. This item can be shipped to United Kingdom.
