A Rare & Beautiful 260 Year Old Antique Longcase Grandfather Clock. C1760

A Rare & Beautiful 230 Year Old George III Antique Oak Longcase Grandfather Clock. Made in England during the reign of King George III in around 1790 by clock maker Joseph Quarman to a lovely standard. The hood with swan neck pediment and central eagle on ball finial, turned column supports with brass end caps flanking the glazed door. The long cabinet with moulded edge door, brass escutcheon and raised on a bracket feet. The wonderful square brass dial signed Joseph Quarman, temple cloud on the subsidiary second dial over a calendar dial. With floral engraved chasing to the centre and cathedral hands being enclosed by a silvered chapter ring. Brass floral spandrels to the corners. All beautifully raised on a plinth base. A true Antique, made to wonderful portions. It would stand proud in any room. We don't believe in the usual huge mark ups. This clock is in excellent working order and keeps excellent time. The movement and workings are nearly 200 years old, yet look almost new after being overhauled.
