Antique 8 Day Inlaid Oak & Mahogany Longcase Grandfather Clock

Inlaid Oak & Mahogany Longcase Clock. If we start with the hood, this has swan necks. Square reeded columns flank the hood door which have been inlaid with ebony. To the rear are straight back splats.

The door is mahogany veneered and above the door is nicely inlaid. If we then move down to the trunk it has a shaped door cross banded in mahogany. The door is then flanked by square reeded columns which have been inlaid with ebony. Below the columns has been nicely inlaid with stringing. Also above the door has been nicely inlaid.

Finally the base is mahohany veneers and has an applied oak panel which has been cross banded in mahogany. The dial has the four corners adorned with flowers. The dial is set out with Arabic numerals. There is subsidiary second dial and date aperture.

The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is nice and clean as can be seen from the photographs. The clock does not have any weights, but it does have a pendulum but it is lacking it's feather. The approximate dimensions of the clock are: - 80 inches high - 22.75 inches across the hood. 17.25 inches across the trunk. 21 inches across the base. The case requires some restoration as can be seen from the photographs. The dial is in original condition, there is some fading and chips and marks commensurate with age.
