Antique Grandfather Clock Enamel Dial, Hand Painted & Movement
An antique late 18th / early 19th century Scottish longcase clock dial with a twin train movement, striking on a bell. It is unsigned, but attributted to William Dobbie. The face is arched, the enamel top hand painted with a Scottish scene.

Four kilted soldiers, armed with rifles and a shield... Face 3 armed men (2 in red breeches, one in a kilt). They are in a dining room or kitchen, a tray and broken glasses, etc.

In the four corners around the dial are the four nations, queens or ladies.. England, Wales, Ireland and Scotland. The fine gilded hands and secondary hands are hand cut and engraved.

Paint distressed in places, particularly on the clothing. Minor marks, light scratching, etc.. Size : Approx 20 1/2" tall x 14 1/4" wide.
