Lovely Oak and mahogany long case/grandfather clock. If we start with the hood this has lovely swan necks. The hood door is then flanked by reeded columns which terminate in brass capitals.
The trunk of the case has a lovely shaped full length door which is cross banded in mahogany around the edge and had a pretty shaped brass escutcheon. The door, and is flanked by quarter reeded columns. The dial features a country scene to the arch whilst the four corners are adorned with flowers. It has is set out with Arabic numerals which is unusual and there is a subsidiary second dial.Clock comes complete with weights and pendulum. The case is is okay condition, it's had some chips to the veneer, and the moulding to the top sides of the hood are missing and according to personal taste could have a little tidying. Unfortunately i cannot see a name on the dial although i personally think the clock with have originated from the Cheshire/Nantwich area due to its style. MAXIMUM dimensions are : 22.5"/ 57 cm wide (across hood), by 10.5"/26.5 cm deep (across hood), by 84 /213.5 cm tall.
