Antique English 8 Day Bell Strike Flame Mahogany Grandfather Longcase Clock. A stunning looking antique longcase grandfather clock, circa 1790 8 day longcase clock which strikes each hour on a cast bell. The case made of mahogany with beautiful Inlaid wood cartouche detail and stringing, with rare center calendar and rolling moon painted dial. The case features The trunk with a beautiful shaped flame mahogany door and 1/4 reeded pillars complete with key, The hood with swan neck pediment finished of with brass and nice reeded pillars with brass capitals The plinth with lovley inlay detail. The clock standing approx 96.5 inches high including the brass finials, and 21.00 inches wide.
The movement in nice clean condition and has been cleaned and oiled with new gut lines the case been restored to bring it back to it's former glory and ready to display in the home, and requires no further restoration. The fantastic white arch painted rolling moon dial is in excellent condition having Thomas Adam's Middlewich (Cheshire Clock)painted on the dial and a seconds and center calendar facility fitted, Complete with 2 weights pendulum and winding crank key.
