The dial has decorative pierced brass spandrels with two cherubs holding a crown aloft and a silvered roman chapter ring. Matted centre with ringed winding holes and subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture. The face is flanked by barley twist columns to the door with a handsome carved crest above with swan neck, central shell, flower head and leaf frieze surmounted by a water gilded ball finial. Two train movement has an anchor escapement that runs beautifully keeping good time and striking with a bell on the hour every hour.
The figured burr line inlaid waist door has a lenticule panel for viewing the pendulum in motion and the base is raised on its original pretty, petite bun feet. This has its original hinges, escutcheon and working lock and key with good quality brass weights and brass covered pendulum. The hood is glazed to the sides to allow viewing of the movement.
