Richard Boyfield Longcase Grandfather Clock 1750/60. This provincial 30 hour clock, was made by clockmaker Richard Boyfield of Great Dalby and dates to around 1750/60. The case is made of oak, clock with original movement (sadly crutch recently broke off during moving, though can easily be soldered back on), and with brass face, chapter ring and corner spandrels.Face has one steel hour hand, the lock is missing from the long door (see image). The clock comes with two lead weights and pendulum. The clock is in an original untouched though tired state, and is crying out for some TLC and restoration.
A lovely early longcase by this Leicestershire maker. Old woodworm to pillars on hood. Please study images to see condition.
