The trunk door is then flanked by quarter reeded columns. THe base has an applied panel cross banded in mahogany. The clock is then raised on ogee bracket feet. The case has a lovely rich colour.The dial is arched and set out in black Roman numerals with small Arabic numerals above the quarter hours and has a date apperture. The arch then has a lovely scene depicting a windmill and cottage. Each corner then has further paintings historic buildings. The dial is then finished by two lovely shaped hands. The movement is 30 hour movement striking the number of hours on the bell and is lovely and clean. The clock dial, weight, pendulum, and case are all original to each other. It measures approximately: 87 1/4" / 221.5 cm high, 21" / 53.5 cm wide across the hood. 15 1/4 / 38.5 cm wide across the trunk. 19 1/2" / 49.5 cm wide across the base, 9 3/4" / 24.5 cm deep.
CONDITION: The clocks is in nice condition especially considering it's age and it a lovely patina just minor knocks / marks commensurate with age and use. The dial has been touched up a little during it's life and has some wear again commensurate with age and use.The movement is lovely and clean as can be seen from the photographs. The rear of the trunk door has some very old long dead woodworm holes in it but this will have been in the timber when the clock case was constructed.
