It has lost two of its three finials, but otherwise appears to be all original without enhancements. Could it be a salesman's sample? Perhaps, or just a desk clock/paperweight.
The art nouveau style decoration with cherub place its age at the end of the 19th century. The patented 1878 clock works has a 2" dial, features Roman numerals, has a working second hand with a 7/16" face at the12 o'clock position, and speed adjustment. This clock looks like it has never been messed with, and would be a very interesting addition to any collection. Please review the pictures for more details, and ask questions if you have concerns.
